Hal has been instrumental in the growth and vision of the firm. Hal has served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Soltis Investment Advisors from July 2013-2017. Prior to this, Hal served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer for the firm since 1993. Hal also served as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. Hal returned in July 2020 from his 3-year ecclesiastical leave and is serving as the Chairman of the Board of Managers and Chair of the Private Alternative Investment Committee.

Hal received a B.A. in International Relations from Brigham Young University (BYU) and an MBA from BYU’s Marriott School of Management. Hal has served on various Boards to include the Sutherland Institute, Zion Natural History Association, BYU Alumni, National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) Government Affairs Committee, Challenger Schools, and BYU Management Society of St. George. Hal serves an Adjunct instructor in the Finance Department at Utah Tech University teaching portfolio management. He and his wife Julie have six children and 22 grandchildren.
