Scott joined Soltis Investment Advisors in 2021 as the Controller, initially supporting the firm’s accounting and finance functions alongside CFO and CCO Tyler Wilkinson. Thanks to the firm’s smaller size at the time, he also gained valuable experience in operations, compliance, and client advisory work — sparking a passion that led him to transition full-time into an advisory role.
Scott is a licensed CPA and obtained his Series 65 shortly after joining Soltis to become an advisor. He is actively pursuing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation to further expand his expertise. His technical background allows him to take a comprehensive approach to the advisory side, utilizing financial planning, tax planning, and investment management to serve his clients better.
Prior to Soltis, Scott worked in corporate finance as a financial analyst for a multi-billion-dollar public company and in public accounting, preparing financial statements, tax returns, and tax planning for a diverse client base.
A Southern Utah native, Scott earned his Master of Accountancy degree from Dixie State University (now Utah Tech), where he was part of the university’s first graduating MACC class. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, mountain biking, playing sports, and enjoying Southern Utah’s outdoors.
